Celebrating 43 years of marriage on board their new 43 Open Flybridge Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia: It was a picture perfect day on Wednesday, August 3 when Peter and Jan Barr cruised through the Gold Coast Seaway for a spot of whale watching. The couple were celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary on board their new Riviera 43 Open Flybridge with IPS when they caught a glimpse of something orange floating in the water. “We saw a big orange turtle and then we spotted three enormous whales – they were beautiful,” Jan said. “It was wonderful to go whale watching, we spent about an hour in the sea before coming back in to the Broadwater where we anchored for lunch in a nice little bay near Sea World. “We have only had the 43 for a few months but we just love it, it’s great.” This is Jan and Peter’s second Riviera, hence the name, Sequel. The couple moved to the Gold Coast from Victoria about four years ago and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle living on five acres at Willow Vale. “We love the space and privacy of living in the bush but also enjoy the Marina lifestyle,” Jan said. They have two sons, Matthew and Anthony who live in Brisbane and the Snowy Mountains respectively. They also have four grandchildren. The couple look forward to celebrating many more anniversaries and special milestones on board their new Riviera 43 Open Flybridge.
