A shining example Riviera congratulates Star Performers

Electrician Gregg Cook and Boat Builder Caleb Tilsley are a shining example of high work ethic, leadership and commitment, which is why they were awarded the Star Performer and Workplace, Health, Safety and Environment Star Performer award for the second quarter 2011.

The awards have been running for more than 12 years and recognise outstanding employment contribution each quarter as nominated by each department head with the overall winners announced at the end of the year.

Human Resource manager Deanne Lugton said all the award recipients were great ambassadors for Riviera.

“The outstanding performance delivered by these individuals is a great example of employees who are committed to excellence and exceeding customer expectations,” Deanne said.

“It’s always great to be able to recognise our 'stars' each quarter.”

Gregg Cook has worked for Riviera for the past 11 years and is currently responsible for quality control and electrical testing.

He was awarded the Star Performer award for his outstanding contribution to quality control and ensuring Riviera boats are finished to the highest standard.

“It was a big surprise to be recognised and awarded Star Performer because I have many men around me who I think are equally worthy of this award,” Gregg said.

Caleb is a boat builder in Fit Out One and prides himself on his dedication to health, safety and the environment.

“It’s nice to be recognised and I am happy management have noticed the effort I have put in to making the shed safer,” Caleb said.

“We have implemented a lot of safety initiatives over the past six months such as improving walkways and lifting equipment, and roping off areas when we re-dock boats and fit marlin boards.”

Riviera CEO John Anderson commended Gregg and Caleb on their achievement and encourages other staff to follow their lead.

Gregg and Caleb were joined by their managers, senior managers and the people who nominated them for a celebration lunch held at Riviera’s onsite restaurant this week.
