Riviera reaps rewards at Sydney Boat Show

Australia's largest luxury boat builder, Riviera, has reaped the rewards at this year's Sydney International Boat Show, boasting the largest on-water display and securing an astounding AUD$8.7 million in sales and a further seven new boats sold post the show, totaling AUD$16.6 million.

After a two-day voyage from the Gold Coast manufacturing facility at Coomera, the Riviera fleet arrived at Darling Harbour where the company displayed 15 boats valued at more than AUD$20 million.

Among the 15 boats were four new models; the 5000 Sport Yacht with Zeus pod drives, the 5800 Sport Yacht with triple IPS, 47 Enclosed Flybridge, and 51 Enclosed Flybridge with triple IPS and a new Flybridge design.

Toasting the success of six boat sales in the first three days, more than 250 Riviera owners and VIP guests celebrated the launch of the 5000 Sport Yacht at a party held on Riviera's floating display on Saturday night.

Revelers were entertained by musical duo Port and Starboard with a classic Beatles rendition, ‘Love me Riv'.

To top off an already successful boat show, Riviera was presented with the Boating Industry Association of NSW's prestigious award for display excellence for its 2009 exhibit at the Sydney International Boat Show, which is a credit to all staff who dedicated tireless hours ensuring the show was a success.

Riviera Syndication also recorded strong sales at this year's show, exceeding expectations with nine of the 10 shares snapped up for the new Riviera 5000 Sport Yacht.

Riviera Syndication chief executive officer John Russell said the results showed tremendous support for Riviera and was a good sign that confidence was returning to the market.

The new 5800 Sport Yacht was also popular at the Sydney boat show with five of the 10 shares sold as well as an IPS powered Riviera 3600 Sport Yacht syndicate well under way for Pittwater, Sydney. Both the 5000 Sport Yacht and the 5800 Sport Yacht will be based at Rushcutters Bay in Sydney.  There will be a special owners launch party for the 5000 Sport Yacht on September 12.

R Electronics showcased several new and exciting products, such as the Lumitec LED lighting for which the company is the sole Australian distributor.

Riviera has enjoyed a hugely successful Sydney Boat Show, which is a tangible sign that confidence is returning to the market as the company prepares for the Fort Lauderdale and Miami boat shows later this year.
