Peace of mind for Riviera owners

Perth, Western Australia:   R Marine Perth’s Priority Assist program has this year helped 30 Riviera owners from cutting short their Christmas holiday.

Every year for the past six years, R Marine Perth has based a mother ship at Rottnest Island from Boxing Day until early January.

This year, the mother ship was a Riviera 40 called Matilda which was stocked with spare Riviera parts from watermaker filters, pressure pumps, sanitation system parts and impellers to portable generators in case a customer has a total generator malfunction.

R Marine Perth’s owner care manager Tim Wright stays on board the mother ship and is on call to assist owners with any problems they may have.

Tim said he had dozens of calls for assistance over the Christmas period and estimates at least 30 Riviera owners were helped from cutting short their holiday due to niggling equipment problems.

One such Riviera owner was Kevin Foley who said he was grateful for R Marine Perth’s ‘silver service’.

“While I was on annual leave at Rottnest, Tim came up to my boat on a rib, introduced himself and offered R Marine’s services, not knowing that within the hour I would have a problem with my genset,” Mr Foley said.

“Tim immediately came to my assistance, ordered the part, arranged for a temporary genset to keep my fridges going and, when the part arrived on the ferry, he promptly fitted it.

“Without R Marine Perth’s assistance, through Tim, my holiday would have been severely interrupted and I congratulate R Marine Perth for providing this service to me and other boaties away at Rottnest.”

R Marine Perth dealer principal Brendon Grieve said they were provided with a Brig Rigid Inflatable to use over the summer in support of the program.

“This year it was a purpose built red 580 model powered by a Honda 90 and equipped with Garmin GPS and Fusion sound gear,” he said.

“A lot of our Riviera owners spend their holidays at Rottnest Island during the Christmas holidays and our Priority Assist program has helped many owners over the years.

“While we base our mother ship at Rottnest, we still assist our customers wherever they may be in the state.”

Riviera owners who have purchased a boat through R Marine Perth are eligible to register for the Priority Assist program and for a small fee they receive priority access to R Marine Perth’s telephone support.  To date 103 Riviera owners have registered for the program.
