Best Boat Name Competition BOAT NAME COMPETITION WINNER! Congratulations to Kim Labuschagne for this entry ‘‘Sweet Caroline’’. Kim said “Recently I acquired an almost new 37 Open Flybridge. She was moored in Granger Bay, Cape Town in South Africa and is currently on her way up the coast to Durban (approx 1,000 nm). My previous boat was American and I called her Carolina after the state in which she was made and I lived for a period of my life. I wanted some continuity because they were very happy times and I have always believed, where appropriate, a boat should have a girl’s name, so we called her SWEET CAROLINE. If you remember the words to the famous Neil Diamond song, it goes….Sweet Caroline…good times never seemed so good…; very appropriate for what we hope will be a long and happy relationship! So it covered the past, present and the future.”
