There's a saying that ‘less is more’ or is it ‘bigger is better’? Well both aptly apply to the newest family member of Raymarine's second generation hybrid touch displays, the e-165, 15.4" unit. The first of this new generation "lighthouse" interface displays, the e-7, 7” was announced in July 2011. Since that date, Raymarine have been very quick in growing the family to include the e-95, 9”, e-125, 12” and now the e-165, 15.4”. The e-165 replaces the previous generation E-140w 14” and uses the same footprint and cut-out as the E-140w 14" unit, but features 20 per cent greater display area while occupying the same dash space. This is a huge advancement in packaging and MFD (multifunction display) from Raymarine. The new e series (excluding e-7) is the first series compatible with the ClearPulse Chirp fish finding technology, which offers not only far greater overall depths than previously seen, but also individual fish separation like never before. Some of the new features in the new e series include:
The range from Raymarine is compatible and people can easily mix and match systems, for example two e-165 displays on a bridge, e-95 or e-125 in a cockpit and e-7 in an owner’s cabin. They also feature all the inclusions that Raymarine is renowned for, such as hybrid touch, video input, video output, AIS, and 12 models of radar to name but a few. All of this comes at very low power consumption as each e-165 draws only 36w of power. For more information or a demonstration of the Raymarine e-165, please call or e-mail Errol at R Electronics
