The water is free at Riviera’s R Desalination

Visiting the hundreds of boats displayed on the marina at the Sydney International Boat Show is certain to be thirsty work.

Part of the massive Riviera display this year will include a rest stop for parched visitors. The team at the R Desalination stand in the Riviera display will be handing out free bottles of clean, fresh water. And there is no chance that they will run out.

R Desalination Managing Director Errol Cain and his team will fill bottles from a Horizon Reverse Osmosis (HRO) watermaker on their stand. And the water is being pumped directly from the marina below!

Featuring Horizon Reverse Osmosis's EfficientSea technology, the Seafari Escape is capable of reducing its total power consumption by up to 75%. The patented Energy Transfer Device eliminates the need for a high-pressure pump. The result is a system that is efficient, virtually noiseless, and capable of running on either AC, or DC power.

Producing up to 95 litres per hour, the Seafari Escape 600 is perfectly suited for smaller to mid-sized boats.

The system takes sea water or other undrinkable water and uses technology to make it pure. Reverse osmosis simply involves the movement of water under pressure through a semi-permeable membrane that allows water molecules - but not larger compounds such as salt and other impurities - to pass through.

Among the top desalination units on the market, HRO watermakers use this technology to purify water of salts and minerals, unpleasant odours and taste. An optional ultraviolet steriliser eliminates 99.8% of all micro-organisms, including viruses and bacteria.

According to Errol, the super-quiet 24-volt system makes a lot of sense for boat owners - and for people whose homes are on the water.

HRO watermakers are available exclusively through R Desalination in Australia. Phone 5561 7900.
