Sydney Premiere - the Riviera 38 Open Flybridge The new Riviera 38 Open Flybridge is a two-cabin, one bathroom model that continues the millennium styling introduced in 2000. Building on the success of the Riviera 37 Open Flybridge, which was launched in 2001 and has since sold more than 260 craft, the 38 will impress with its extra features. Externally, the new Riviera 38 continues the evolutionary styling, with tinted glass windscreen panels fitting together in front of the windscreen mullions to give a modern all-glass look. She features underwater exhausts and new QL trim tabs which offer low-drag trim. Forward, the through-bowsprit anchor system gives greater strength and protection to the bowsprit as well as a sophisticated look when the anchor is housed. There is also the option to have a bow thruster fitted. Aft, the swim platform includes an integrated swim rail and an extendable swim ladder that is concealed by a hatch when not in use. The flybridge features new style helm chairs with high backs, armrests and footrests for extra comfort. The aft flybridge rail has been ‘kicked' back to give more room to move around the helm chairs. The helm station looks cleaner and more robust with its new style dash console, which has been built into the helm station which also includes user-friendly electronic engine management systems. A highly polished 316 stainless steel Edson steering wheel adds a touch of class to the helm. The saloon features separate L-shaped lounge and dinette while the galley features a solid surface benchtop with an electric dual element cooktop and stainless steel appliances. A highlight is the lowered servery to the saloon for convenience when entertaining aboard. High gloss cherrywood upper pelmets the full length of the saloon, including concealed audio speakers, add to a sense of style and comfort. Twin Volvo turbo diesel engines rated at 272kW/370hp are standard on the Riviera 38 Open Flybridge. Options include twin Cummins QSB 380 diesels rated at 280kW/380hp or twin Cummins QSB 425 diesels rated at 313kW/425hp. Fuel capacity is 1,450 litres and water capacity is 460 litres, which is stored in dual tanks with a gauge located in the galley. The 38's electrical design has left no stone unturned with its ‘maintenance free' batteries, which are in enclosed boxes for added protection. Individual battery banks are on standby for emergencies and can also be isolated through the Genset isolator, which is located at the master switch panel. The flybridge and hull are wired separately allowing a ‘plug and play' system for accessories and maintenance. The saloon and flybridge helm feature newly styled safety warning panels to ensure easy monitoring of crucial pumps and lights. LED lights have replaced standard navigation lights, which save on power while giving countless hours of maintenance free operation. |
